Inventors Community Website Idea

I don’t know about you, but I love to think about ideas for new products all the time. I really have some ideas that I’m excited about and really believe in. The problem is that I can’t find anyone else who sees what I see and shares my enthusiasm. I’m sure there are others out there that will like the idea and want to run with it as bad as I do, however. The trick is finding these people and networking with them. Hence, my new website idea. Create a website that fosters discussion about new ideas for inventions and helps bring together business men of like mind. Here’s how it would work. Someone would post their idea and simply sit back and wait for others to post a reply if they like the idea and are interested in partnering with the original inventor on the idea. Discussion about how to proceed and expand on the idea and turn it into a business would follow. There are some people that have no shortage of ideas, but often these same people have no clue about how to turn their idea into a business. Hooking up business people and venture capitalists with creative inventors would be your goal as the administrator and moderator of this community. That means you’d want to market your community to both inventors and business men. You might also want to attract patent lawyers as well. To start off your community you could start an adwords marketing ppc program to target keyword phrases from these three areas in an attempt to bring them together on your website. One thing that you could do to attract some attention would be to post free ideas on your website every so often to help get the creative juices flowing. And, to start you off please allow me to post a creative idea that to my knowledge has never really been tried. My idea for an invention that I will post here absolutely free in the open up for grabs to the first person who runs with it is… A remote control toy tank that vacuums. Why a tank? Because a tank is slow and that gives it time to clean the floor good. Why a remote control toy? Because moms need help from their kids with choirs. And, what better way to get the help than to make it fun for the kid. Take this idea and make it yours before someone else does! And, post it on your new inventors community website.

    Hey there,

i read ur post on the inventive ideas stuff and I too share the same kind of mindset as u. Every morning before starting work , i spend atleast 20-25 minutes battling to find new ideas that could really be implemented into business opportunities. I also have the technical skills myself to implement the same but till now I havent succeeded in thinking of anything breakthrough like “youtube” or “facebook” . I think the key to these business ideas lies in their simplicity and mass appeal to non-it people. I did like your idea about the discussion forum ,but i dont think it will qualify as a breakthrough idea since theres a lot thatz required to be done even after actually launching the product,if u understand what i am saying.

I have written the site http://www.thebuyersnet.com for a friend of a friend of mine becoz the idea seemed cool at that time , but eventually after the launch , it flopped. I am out of this project now.

You can contact me at dalalram@gmail.com if u wish to.

    warm regards

Hi, the concept is good, but what you must remember is that the people who do not have idea’s but have business expertise would only need to look at someones idea and then they could steal it and patent it before the original inventor does. That is why something of this nature has not been made…

Hi. I randomly came across this post - I’m a 23 year old male Lehigh graduate working in Philadelphia. I have ideas all the time - and what’s funny is - I had this EXACT same idea. anyway, i cant explain the irony of this whole situation. bottom line is we have the exact same mentality. i’ve always known in the back of my mind that I would find someone with the same drive and enthusiasm to take something to the top. we should go over all our ideas and take stock of their values. i have a realllly good one for a website that has not been created yet that i know of. anyway, hit me up via email, or give my cell a call. id love to talk to you more, don’t be afraid to get in touch.

    Hello,

I am a web designer and I own a pretty successful web design company. I have worked on a many number of projects, and I spend most of my time thinking of the next big thing. Allow me to add to your idea.

The idea that you speak of is a forum. Easy to do. But the issue, is that networking and finding the right people is hard to do. So my idea, is create an online secret society if you will. A message board where only certain members are allowed. It takes a lengthy online application process to join. This makes it a very secretive portal where people of great minds can work together and discuss new innovative ideas. Each member would know, what each member brought to the table. Each member would help other members when they can and receive help when they need. This would eventually grow, into an online secret society networking superior minded individuals together from all over the world. If done right, the amount of power the collective would have over time would be insane. Especially, if the businesses and website ideas created and launched by the members were successful. Now, not only is there a vast collective of great minds working together, but now these great minds have capital and resources. This would be a scary thought for the business world. A lovely thought for us and the ones were apart of it.

anyway, e-mail me if you’re in to this. I’ll have one built over night for us at no cost.

I cam across Ram’s remark about your post and felt the need to rebut.

Firstly the point you make about posting the ideas on a website and waiting for someone with a business knowledge to assist in the development of the idea into a viable business has many drawbacks. You will have to file a patent within one year of publishing your idea.
Secondly you may not want your ideas stolen by some unscruplus person. There are numerous networking groups available in almost every city in the US or you can form your own group using Meetup.com. There you will come across numerous knowledgeable persons who are willing to assist. You should try the MIT enterprise forum or TiE. These are two good organization.

Regarding thebuyersNET.com, it has not flopped as Ram claims. We got tremendous feedback from a controlled user group. We have used this feedback to develop further. In the next couple of weeks we will be launching version 2 which is leaps and bounds above version 1. We are very greatful to Ram for his assistance during the initial period.

Starting up a business from ground up is no easy task. However you need not only a good idea but perseverance to make it work. Nobody said doing business was easy. That is the reason we have more employees than buinesses.

Good luck with your idea. You will suceed as long as your ready to put in a lot of sweat equity and have a never say die attitude.
