I cam across Ram's remark about your post and felt the need to rebut.

Firstly the point you make about posting the ideas on a website and waiting for someone with a business knowledge to assist in the development of the idea into a viable business has many drawbacks. You will have to file a patent within one year of publishing your idea.
Secondly you may not want your ideas stolen by some unscruplus person. There are numerous networking groups available in almost every city in the US or you can form your own group using Meetup.com. There you will come across numerous knowledgeable persons who are willing to assist. You should try the MIT enterprise forum or TiE. These are two good organization.

Regarding thebuyersNET.com, it has not flopped as Ram claims. We got tremendous feedback from a controlled user group. We have used this feedback to develop further. In the next couple of weeks we will be launching version 2 which is leaps and bounds above version 1. We are very greatful to Ram for his assistance during the initial period.

Starting up a business from ground up is no easy task. However you need not only a good idea but perseverance to make it work. Nobody said doing business was easy. That is the reason we have more employees than buinesses.

Good luck with your idea. You will suceed as long as your ready to put in a lot of sweat equity and have a never say die attitude.

Hello,

I am a web designer and I own a pretty successful web design company. I have worked on a many number of projects, and I spend most of my time thinking of the next big thing. Allow me to add to your idea.

The idea that you speak of is a forum. Easy to do. But the issue, is that networking and finding the right people is hard to do. So my idea, is create an online secret society if you will. A message board where only certain members are allowed. It takes a lengthy online application process to join. This makes it a very secretive portal where people of great minds can work together and discuss new innovative ideas. Each member would know, what each member brought to the table. Each member would help other members when they can and receive help when they need. This would eventually grow, into an online secret society networking superior minded individuals together from all over the world. If done right, the amount of power the collective would have over time would be insane. Especially, if the businesses and website ideas created and launched by the members were successful. Now, not only is there a vast collective of great minds working together, but now these great minds have capital and resources. This would be a scary thought for the business world. A lovely thought for us and the ones were apart of it.

anyway, e-mail me if you're in to this. I'll have one built over night for us at no cost.

First, congratulations for your blog.
I´m an Spanish programmer and I´m interest in this idea, but i can´t understand it very well.
I can generate the thousands of pages and each page is going to show information about each city in my country. Moreover, each page is going to link to a forum category that would be dedicated to discussion about that city. But How can I get the names of the business?. Where should I show the names of the bussiness? Should I show the name of the business on the page of the city which the business belong?
Thanks, you and sorry for my English.

Hi. I randomly came across this post - I'm a 23 year old male Lehigh graduate working in Philadelphia. I have ideas all the time - and what's funny is - I had this EXACT same idea. anyway, i cant explain the irony of this whole situation. bottom line is we have the exact same mentality. i've always known in the back of my mind that I would find someone with the same drive and enthusiasm to take something to the top. we should go over all our ideas and take stock of their values. i have a realllly good one for a website that has not been created yet that i know of. anyway, hit me up via email, or give my cell a call. id love to talk to you more, don't be afraid to get in touch.

Hi, the concept is good, but what you must remember is that the people who do not have idea's but have business expertise would only need to look at someones idea and then they could steal it and patent it before the original inventor does. That is why something of this nature has not been made...
