Work at Home Website Ideas
Saturday, May 26th, 2007There has never been a better time for those that wish to work from home fulltime. Thanks to the internet and ever advancing technology, just about anyone who has basic computer skills and a healthy amount of ambition can work from their house. Not everyone is making a lot of money doing it, and many fail trying to do it, but an ever increasing number of common everyday folks like you and me are also becoming very rich doing it. What it really boils down to is a good idea, a good product or service to sell, and good old fashioned hard work. Some will argue with this last requirement and claim that they only work a few hours a week in their pajamas, but for the most part hard work is a necessity.
First off, you really have do some research to find a niche product or service that you really know well or really are enthusiastic about. You then need to research who else is providing this service or product and how you will provide it differently and serve customers in a unique and fresh way that none of your competition does. You don’t want to jump into a highly competetive area and try to compete with the big boys. You want to find something new and exciting and creative.
I wouldn’t start off worrying too much about setting specific goals with short timelines as this can often lead to disappointment and discouragement. There’s no telling how fast or slow your new business might take off, and I am a big fan of taking things day by day and expecting the most, but preparing for the worst. If you’re fortunate to have a little money saved up in the bank and you can go a year or two living off your savings without manking any money, this is ideal. It’s very hard to start making money right off the bat. You need some time to build up a reputation and some testimonials.
In the meantime, you need to consult with someone who has run a business before to work out a good business plan. Next, make sure you’re doing things right and obeying your local laws and get a business license. Once, you have a business license and you’re ready to tell the world what you have to sell, you need to then market yourself. I happen to be a big fan of online advertising. There are many great places to target potential customers online with next to nothing when it comes to upfront costs. Google Adwords is probably the best. Google only requires a $5 deposit and you can set a daily budget of less than $1 marketing on their search engine to whole world. This is a low risk and easy way to get into online advertising. Google makes it incredibly easy and to search for keywords and keyword phrases and to bid on a position in their result pages. This kind of cost effective and targeted advertising has never been available to the work at home person ever before in history. It’s really amazing how Google has made it possible and so very easy for you to connect with people all over the world who might be interested in the exact product of service that you are offering.
Finally, you need to just focus on providing the very best service to your customers. This may sound easy, but if you haven’t completed the above steps first you many never have a chance to serve anyone at all. Please don’t take any shortcuts and try to skip the initial research on a niche market and consultation with another longtime business owner. Take some time to really think things out and I’m confident you too can take part in the ever expanding work at home workforce. I sincerely hope you succeed and please don’t hesitate to add a comment to this website ideas blog if you have any questions.
