Best Web Hosting Companies

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Which web host you choose is by far one of the most important things to consider when creating a website. Many poorly run web hosts come and go while others stay around for a long time and continue to impress it’s clients. Good web hosts are few and far between. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a website that was devoted to informing you of the latest news and updates regarding which web hosts were getting the best reviews? This would make for a great website idea if you are someone who is learned in this area or if you are someone who has the time to browse all of the major discussion forums to find out who is pleasing their web hosting clients and who is turning them off. You’d have to browse forums like Sitepoint, Namepros, and Digitalpoint on a monthly basis to query and report on what web hosts are doing their job and doing it well. This report would be an invaluable resource to all new webmasters who are looking for a place to call home for their new website.  And, it would surely make for a great website idea.

Niche Manual Directories

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

Here’s an idea for someone who is really familiar with websites related to a particular area of interest. If you’re someone who frequents a lot of websites about something you love and you want to reward others for their great websites on a particular subject that you care a lot about, create a directory of websites. Each website will be listed in an appropriate subcategory and have a detailed description followed by a link to the website resource. Directories are becoming popular these days, but you can stand out by having a high quality standards when it comes to which websites you include and accept in your directory. This kind of moderation and attention is something that many directory owners fail to employ. They figure that the more websites the better. Well, that just isn’t true. If you want to have a directory that people will talk about, bookmark, and tell their friends about you just can’t have a huge list of sites. No, you need quality over quantity. People are looking for filters in a world wide web of sites that are full of spam and unrelated garbage. And, this is what you can offer your visitors. You can promise to always remain true to them that you will do your best to keep a close eye on all the sites in your directory to ensure a level of decency, relevancy, and quality without excessive ads.

Garage Sale Listings

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

Well summer time is just about here and you know what that means! It’s garage sale time. There’s no better time to take this next website idea and run with it. Create a garage sale listing website for your local town or city. Now, you may think this has already been done, and it probably has in many of the big cities out there. But, most of these competetors of yours are run by someone who doesn’t have the hometown pride that you have. And, so they can’t compete with you who is devoted to his/her local town and will put much more effort into moderating and keeping things running. You’ll also have the added advantage of cheap local advertising. One thing you can do to advertise this garage sale listing website of yours is to simply put a sign on your car and drive it around to all the garage sales every Saturday. There are many avid die hard garage sale shoppers that do this every week looking for deals. If they see your sign on your car, there you go. There’s your free advertising. If you love going to garage sales every Saturday as much as I do, this website idea is for you. If you know nothing about how to create such a website simply post a comment here and I’ll give you some pointers. Thanks for reading, and please come back soon to WebsiteIdeas.org for more new creative website ideas.
